Developmental Strategies as applied also to the organizations SAIFASP, ISEBTTIDA & International Renewable Energy Institute: Laboratory & Demonstration Unit for Africa.

As proposed by John M Riggs Member of Institute of Directors of South Africa, co-director and CEO of Houseofdijohn.co.za and the business of Riggs Brothers in its different forms active mainly in construction industry.

Strategies are the mechanisms or means of achieving the strategic goals we have set for our organization.

We consider, support, associate or subscribe to the views, ideals and principles set out by:

· Freemarket Foundation

· UN’s Millennium Development Goals

· Foundation For Development of Africa

· NEPAD & AU

· The Brenthurst Foundation & RUSI

· Marrakech Accords

· Kyoto Protocols and any amendments proceeding from it

The strategies to get these objectives are listed below:

4.1 Job Creation

· Develop and establish viable and sustainable SMME’s.

· Enable & stimulate the previously disadvantaged sector.

· Increase opportunities for small businesses and rural communities.

· Stimulate entrepreneurial spirit within communities

4.2 Women Development

· Facilitate, promote and develop programmes for women as entrepreneurs within specific business sectors e.g. Eco – Tourism, Agriculture Energy, and Mining.

4.3 Building of Development Capacity

· Business and technical skills training particularly in home food security.

· Suppliers development and building with specialist business partners

· Strategic partnerships and alliances in energy sector and engineering industry

· Suppliers relationships building with specialist business partners

· Provisions of sustainable and low carbon emissions in electricity

· Low external input electricity and basic infrastructure especially in rural areas

· Promote access to grant making, capital and credit facilities especially for the poor

· Worthy donations done reactively in co –operation with National Strategy for poverty reduction

· Promote quality service to beneficiaries

· Focus on relationships for the development of sustainable projects

4.4 Development of Educational Programs

· Provide schools with support in food garden security and ABET

· Assist with Eskom and others with mechanisms like skill development in Mathematics, Accountancy & Indigenous Knowledge systems

· Do the aforesaid by means of example of Eskom’s Maths and Science College of Education Program (EMSCEP) for developing Colleges into centers of excellence which produce high quality teachers even in rural areas.

By means of:

Leadership development

Direct student intervention

Provision of education equipment and resources

4.5 Health and Welfare

· Helping the State to provide essential health-care facilities and HIV/AIDS Education programs

Other data in terms of the objectives of this management team & leadership core:

1. Subsidize & assist creation of public gardens ,wildflower reserves and bird and wild life therein

2. Public libraries ,museums & art galleries or any such institutions that purchase works of art, Africana antiques or items of historic and cultural interest or value

3. Contribute to preservation & /or restoration of buildings of historic value for future generations.

These pertain particularly to the surroundings of the Karoo and small Karroo villages and have bearing to the conservation of Karoo and early Cape Colonial history.

We are currently busy forming the Karoo Heritage & Village Cultural Landscape Sustainability Foundation
